service was great chicken piccata is delicious only dissapointment is you dont get bread when you sit down anymore. besides that still a great resturaunt been going for a decade now
I've tried all the well known pizza places in the Detroit area and after 2 visits months apart, it's clear to me, this has the best "Detroit" style pizza in the area. Saturdays are pretty packed though and wait times can be up to an hour. If you go on a weekend but are willing to wait, I think you'll agree it was worth it. Parking is plentiful but exiting can be a problem as parked SUVs can block the view for pulling out. The manager who works there is great, she puts in a lot of effort and customer service. She takes the to go orders as well.
Had a carry out of a pizza and onion rings. Pizza is always delicious! Love the crispy crust on the Detroit style pizza. Never disappoints. First time having onion rings. They were coated with a perfect amount of crispy breadcrumbs.
Cloverleaf Bar & Restaurant is our go-to Detroit style pizza place. The food and the service are always impeccable, and it keeps us coming back. The pizza is by far the best Detroit style pizza around. There are others, but none of them can compare. The "old style pepperoni" is our topping of choice and for good reason. Make sure you also have room for the crunchy bread. It's a slightly different type of bread, soft and sweet, but oh, so good. The customer service is some of the best in the industry bar none. I may be slightly biased because we go quite a bit, but it's proof that they take the time to relate to their customers. They will make you want to come back. Cloverleaf is a top-notch restaurant, and we will continue to be a patron of this establishment.
My family and I are touring the Northern states of the US. Our first night in Detroit was special because we tried their iconic pizza that’s loved nationwide. The moment that we crossed the border, we went straight to Cloverleaf Bar & Restaurant. Cloverleaf Bar & Restaurant played a big part of Detroit’s pizza history. After Gus Guera left Buddy’s, he opened up Cloverleaf. Detroit style is deep dish. We took two small pizzas, the first of which was just pepperoni. We were dumbfounded. This was an enlightening experience: pizza can be THIS good.... The pepperoni wasn’t spicy (a positive for me), but the CHEESE. It was stretchy and soo flavourful. I also observed how the crust was buttery and fluffy. I’ve never been a “corner guy”, but sure as hell was today. I’ll give this 10/10. Our second pizza wall all cheese. It mind-bogglingly bested the first one. Its greatness was infinite and as close to 11/10 as you can get! I got bread pudding for dessert. It was ruined by too much cinnamon, but my parents cleaned up after me. For me, it was 6/10. The bill was 36.70 USD. It would be a crime to visit Detroit and not have pizza. There are many pizzerias and opinions may differ somewhat, but Cloverleaf sits at the very top.
The food and people are wonderful every time we come here, but I specifically want to praise the gluten free pizza. I have the pizza from variety of places, but this is the only gf pizza I've had since being diagnosed where I honestly can't tell the difference between it and a regular pizza. Thank you!
It's been a while since we've ordered pizza from Cloverleaf. While prices may have increased the quality is still top notch!! Pizza was hot, well cooked, liberally covered with my choice of toppings. Still just how I remember !!
I’m all about trying new places, but sometimes you just want a classic. I never like to say I’ve been eating here for decades, but it’s true. We ordered delivery, food was delicious. A couple things weren’t very photogenic. The crunchy bread would be a good example. A pizza dough stretched out & baked with garlic butter, sugar & Parmesan. No matter how you feel about it, it’s a unique way to eat bread. This diabetic approves. I miss coming here to eat & will have to come in for a dine in pizza & salad experience next time. Keep up the good work guys. See ya soon.
